RECOVEROOM
Care That Moves You.
This freelance project was created for a client based in Montreal, QC, for their athletic therapy company, RecoveRoom. The company is dedicated to helping athletes and active individuals prevent injuries and recover effectively. RecoveRoom's mission is to promote health, recovery and overall well-being.
Discovery
This moodboard reflects RecoveRoom’s core values: strength, care, and precision. The deep green tones and smooth textures create a calming and trustworthy feel, while the anatomical visuals highlight structure and expertise. Altogether, it tells a story of recovery through movement. Where science and human connection come together.

My sketches explore a variety of line work, focusing on finding a rhythm in using the double "R" as a clean and recognizable symbol. I experimented with many different ways to reshape the letters, aiming to give them a distinct and memorable form while keeping the overall look refined and not overly complex.
Sketches

Digital draft
In my digital drafts, I explored serif typefaces, drawn to their elegant curves which complemented the concept of bone structure the client wanted to highlight. The refined details of the serif style helped evoke a sense of strength and sophistication. However, I encountered challenges with the letter “R,” as it lacks symmetry and couldn't be split into balanced halves making it tricky to create a mirrored or unified symbol. Another challenge was highlighting the wordmark while keeping the submark clearly secondary.
Final Concept
For the final design, I focused on creating a symmetrical double “R” to achieve a clean, balanced symbol. From there, I realized the brand name RecoveRoom needed to take center stage. To do this, I enlarged the wordmark and positioned the double “R” either above or beside it, depending on the layout. The double “R” also works well as a standalone mark. Ideal for uses like an Instagram profile icon while still maintaining brand recognition at smaller sizes.

reflection
Reflecting on this project, it was a lot of fun collaborating with a real client and bringing their vision to life. Working with someone based in Montreal gave me a chance to not only apply my creative knowledge in a professional setting, but also navigate the balance between personal design instincts and client needs. It was rewarding to see my ideas evolve from initial sketches to a fully realized brand identity. Knowing that something I created now exists in the world, represents a real business, and helps people on their journey to recovery makes it meaningful.
